Overview: Charity Work

At the centre of the ethos of our school is the desire to help others, by following the example of Blessed Edmund Rice and the message of the Gospel.

At St. Ambrose we support local, national and international charities by raising money, but also by our prayers and work in school.

Annual support is given to the following:

  • The Christian Brother projects overseas
  • The Good Shepherd Fund (Shrewsbury Diocesan Fund)
  • Cornerstone (to support local homeless people)
  • Francis House – Rainbow Trust
  • CAFOD (Catholic Fund for Overseas Development)
  • St. Pius Primary School (our twin school in Sierra Leone)
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society in Shrewsbury and Salford Diocese
  • The Wood Street Mission
  • St Anne’s Hospice

The photographs show a group of children we have supported in Africa and a group of Prep.1 boys ready to start their sponsored walk.
